Cuban-Style Crunch Burgers

Total Time

Serving Size

  • ¼ cup dill pickle chips + 2 tablespoons pickle juice
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon steak sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons hot taco sauce
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon sazon (or complete) seasoning, divided
  • 4 ground chuck patties (about 1 ½ lb)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup crispy potato sticks
  • Burger toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, and onions (optional for serving)

  1. Preheat grill (or grill pan) on medium-high. Chop pickles coarsely and combine with mayonnaise, mustard, and steak sauce. In second bowl combine ketchup, taco sauce, pickle juice, and 1 tablespoon seasoning. Season burger patties with remaining 1 teaspoon seasoning (wash hands).
  2. Place burgers on grill and cook 4 minutes without flipping. Flip burgers and brush about 3 tablespoons ketchup mixture on each. Cook 3–4 more minutes until burgers are 160°F, placing cheese on burgers during last minute of cook time. Toast buns, if desired.
  3. Spread mayonnaise mixture evenly on tops and bottoms of buns. Place burger patties on bottom buns; top evenly with potato sticks and top buns. Serve with favorite burger toppings, if using.
